.NET Framework 3.5 Update Issues

In Windows 10 and newer, we can receive an error when trying to install .NET Framework 3.5. The cause of this issue might be because the computer is receiving updates from WSUS on a corporate network.

Any easy solution:

  1. Log into AD Users and Computer and move the computer to a group that is not WSUS managed.
  2. Log into the computer and force a Group Policy update (cmd: gpupdate /force)
  3. Next, navigate to Control Panel->Program->Turn On Windows Features and select the .NET Framework 3.5
  4. Choose the option to download files from Windows Update

That should do it!

Once finished, don’t forget to move the computer back to it’s proper Group in Active Directory.
