REFERRALS
(read time: 5 mintues) I am frequently asked about NetSuite and am delighted to offer referrals to potential new customers. Below are some common thoughts I share when discussing the benefits of choosing NetSuite to power your company.
NETSUITE UNDERSTANDS CLOUD COMPUTING
This is a fact that deserves highlighting even as time passes. Many companies that boast proud and lengthy tenures have struggled to fully embrace a cloud-first approach. They often took successful software developed by their legacy teams, who had originally created robust client-server packages, and adapted them for the web. The result is often Franken-ware - software that is no longer on-premise but also lacking in many cloud-first operational principles. In contrast, startups of the last decade that recognized cloud-computing was the future and built their systems accordingly, setting them on a progressive path. NetSuite uniquely offers both - originating as NetLedger in 1998, it was an early adopter of internet-first principles. With decades of experience, NetSuite now offers a comprehensive suite of solutions, customizable options, and a network of partners spanning nearly every industry vertical. This dual perspective positions NetSuite effectively to cater to a wide range of business needs. NETSUITE IS A HOUSEHOLD NAME AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SOLUTIONS
NetSuite's extensive recognition in the industry ensures widespread familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, allowing businesses to easily access a myriad of plug-ins, integrations, and support to maximize their software investment. Whether it's banking, data warehousing, third-party logistics, or the top e-commerce platforms, if NetSuite doesn't already offer a native solution, chances are high that someone has developed one. Currently, the SuiteApp portal hosts hundreds of installable solutions from developer partners. The Oracle Partner & Programs site is also a resource providing access to the robust ecosystem that allows you to extend and grow your NetSuite investment. NETSUITE IS BACKED BY THE POWERHOUSE THAT IS ORACLE
Look, I appreciate scrappy start-ups that fulfill unique and essential needs that others haven't dared to tackle. However, when it comes to accounting software, for me, stability and long-term viability are critical considerations. When evaluating your software options, allow yourself to think about: What happens if this company is acquired? What will the migration process look like? What is the long-term strategy of the start-up I'm considering? Will we still be using this software in five years, or will we face a transition due to investment changes or strategic shifts? Mergers and acquisitions don't always spell doom for software. NetSuite navigated this journey successfully, evolving from NetLedger to NetSuite and eventually being acquired by Oracle in 2014. This means as you consider your new software purchase, this transition has already been navigated and executed. There are few companies with the capability to absorb a giant like Oracle, and if they do, I'll simply remove this paragraph from my website. HELP IS ALWAYS JUST AROUND THE CORNER

NetSuite's documentation and promotional materials often highlight the impressive power of their dashboards, and for good reason. The ability to access live, real-time metrics on your business’s status is only a dashboard configuration away. Prioritizing your dashboard setup shortly after implementation is crucial. Whether you need sales metrics, financial performance data, or inventory status, they are not exaggerating the power of dashboards. With NetSuite, these vital insights are merely a click away – you can easily put the most important and actionable information right at your fingertips. CLOUD COMPUTING: EMBRACE THE FUTURE PRESENT
This section is designed for anyone apprehensive about relinquishing control of their computer resources. If you have a dedicated IT staff, robust servers in a climate-controlled room, and well-thought-out backup and disaster recovery plans, the idea of surrendering this control might make you nervous. If you are in this camp, please read on. I like to share an analogy comparing the rise of cloud computing to the evolution of the electrical power grid in the early 20th century. Back then, small, coal-fired power plants dotted every few city blocks, each needing mechanics, operators, fuel, skill, and supplies to power a small area. Then, Westinghouse figured out how to harness the power of a massive distant waterfall to supply electricity to entire cities, hundreds of miles away, saving money and precious resources through economies of scale. The same transformation has occurred with the progression of cloud computing. Remember the data centers of the 90s and early 00s that needed operators, tech support, and capital planning? Today, on-demand computing services like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and IBM Cloud have revolutionized the way companies procure and consume information resources. NetSuite leverages the technical power of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Your data is always safe and available, granting your team the ability to offload the management to hundreds of experts and freeing up their time to focus on the growth of your business. Need more resources? Simply scale up. Experiencing a downturn? Scale back. Either way, rid yourself of the time, headache, and expense of advanced resource capital planning. Just as you flip a switch to bring light to a room when you enter, and flip the same switch to turn it off when you leave - paying for only what you used - cloud computing offers a similar type of approach to managing your IT needs. Embrace it. It’s a positive change. |
